And This Is Us
Our ImpactThe goal of our organization is simple: to nurture, enhance and educate communities near and far. Our team is dedicated to creating change in many different parts of the surrounding community in the hopes that we can improve lives, especially for those most marginalized, one person at a time. Our mission is LOVE, our vision is FREEDOM and the declaration that we stand by is to liberate, teach, preach and lead by example with faith and social justice as points of healing for the mind, body and soul.

Our ServicesAs Dynamic Faith Ministries transitioned from just a seed planted into a vision of reality, we began with on-line Bible Study, twice a month. In an effort to institute self care and allow households, families and individuals time for other priorities, we have being intentional about not overloading participants with extensive scheduling or services. Our fellowships are also scheduled twice a month to reinforce that healing/wholeness take time, and we want to be sure that our efforts in scheduling and our message go hand in hand. Self care is not an OPTION!
Our outreach efforts are also a part of the services we offer our congregants, partners and volunteers. We want to be a blessing to those in need and carry out what we believe is the truest message of faith; Micah 6:8-Do justice, love mercy (which means care for others) and to humbly acknowledge our creator. (paraphrased) Once a quarter, we will be going out into community and delivering food and hygiene products to those in need. We will be intentional in our support of other non-profit organizations and their efforts. "Showing up to help" is a huge part of our message and our ministry, in building community and each other. #dfmshowupministry |
Our ConnectionsIf you're interested in being a part of our movement please do not hesitate to connect with us. Our team includes dedicated individuals, but we're always looking for those who want more from faith affiliations. We strongly believe that many hands make light work, and we're hoping for as many helping hands as possible. Come fellowship, learn and grow community awareness with us through faith collaborations. We really are better, TOGETHER!! We are currently connected to several organizations in our inclusive message of diversity and awareness. Collaboration only makes our voices more effective so we are willing to work with those willing to stand firm on creating safe spaces of worship for all people and supporting community towards growth and equality. Speaking to the mountain...(Mark 11:23 NKJ paraphrased). #dfmbettertogether |
Mykal Shannon-Bio
Mykal Shannon is a retired law enforcement sergeant from Charlotte, NC, who now resides in Asheboro, NC. He has been an activist representing a voice for marginalized communities and social injustices in the south, for more than 20 years. He is the founding pastor of DYNAMIC FAITH MINISTRIES, INC., a ministry that focuses on providing a safe space for those who have felt ostracized in other religious entities. He has served on many boards and been a collective part of a host of events that create awareness of current issues affecting gender-variant and transgender communities. Mykal also teaches and provides pastoral care and counseling, personally and in the corporate arena with regard to cultural competency and creating inclusive environments.
